The Cat & Cow Pose – Start on all-fours in a ‘table-top’ pose with your hips directly above your knees and your shoulders in line with your wrists. Inhale and arch your back, lifting your chest forward away from your belly and pushing your tailbone up toward the sky – you are in cow pose. Hold for 5 seconds and release slowly. Exhale and round your back upward and hold your belly in toward your spine, feeling the stretch in your shoulder blades. This is the cat position – hold for another 5 seconds and slowly release. Repeat the sequence 5 times.

The Bridge Pose – Lie flat on your back, bend your knees and place your feet hip distance apart, about 5 inches beneath the buttocks. Inhale as you lift your hips up toward the sky. Interlace your fingers underneath your hips as you draw your shoulder blades together. Hold the position for 10 sets of controlled inhalations and exhalations.

Downward Dog Pose – Start in a plank pose with your wrists directly underneath your shoulders, keeping your body straight, propped up by your toes, feet hip-distance apart. To form downward dog, take your tailbone up toward the sky, creating an inverted ‘V’ shape with your body, keeping your legs straight and drawing your heels down toward the floor. Take your ears away from your shoulders, lengthening your upper body and relax the neck. Hold for 5-10 controlled breaths and repeat 5 times.
