Arizona Bans Abortions After 15 Weeks
By Radiant HealthPublished: March 26, 2022
Arizona will likely join states like Texas and Idaho in passing more extreme abortion bills. The bill that prohibits abortion after 15 weeks with no exceptions for rape or incest is expected to be signed by Republican Gov. Doug Doucey. It does contain an exception regarding the health of the mother. A similar bill is expected to pass in Florida when Gov. Ron DeSantis signs it later this month. According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, 636 abortions were performed after 15 weeks of pregnancy in 2020.
