Medicare Recipients to Receive Free Covid-19 Tests This Spring
By Radiant Health EditorsPublished: February 6, 2022
The Biden administration announced that beginning in the early spring, Medicare recipients will be able to get up to eight free Covid-19 tests per month. Americans with private insurance plans have already been allowed to apply for reimbursement for the tests, and the president acknowledged that the country’s elderly citizens should not have had to wait so long. This is the first time that the federal health insurance program has covered the entire cost of over-the-counter tests. The free rapid tests will be available for program members at participating pharmacies and retailers.
