Pfizer Looks to Get Second Booster Shot on the Market

Pfizer is asking the FDA to grant emergency authorization for a second booster shot for Americans over 65. Younger Americans will be advised to take another vaccine in the fall. The scientific community struggled to agree about the efficacy of the last round of boosters, so it is likely that Pfizer’s request will set off another debate about whether another dose is necessary. In December, Israel began offering anyone older than 60 a booster dose. Scientists are still collecting data on the lasting power of the fourth dose.
